Sure seems to be crawling at a snails pace. At least they are into the standard floors now.

1 Yonge is still on the first floor.

160 Front is coming along nicely though.

There's dozens of projects I thought would be finished by now and by the end of the year. The pandemic and strikes have certainly had an impact on the completion time frames.

I don't know how that affects the number of high rises under construction in the metro. Presumably, breaking ground on new projects have been delayed too.

I think so too. Also that fact she is chunky I think will work in it's favour or the curves and openings might feel a bit busy. It's going to look great up close and from a distance.

It's very imposing from up close. Crowds the street quite a bit, but that corner has always been fairly utilitarian.

Just noticed the diagrams for proposals and buildings under construction are now blurred. Anyone know why?

The pandemic and strikes only delayed project by 1 to 2 months

My observations are more than one or two months so the observations are either wrong or it's something more than the pandemic and labour strikes.

message on the diagram page

June 2022 Buildings which are proposed or under construction are now shown absent of architectural design details. Once a building's construction is complete the detailed drawing will then appear in the skyscraper diagrams.

^ yeah Dylan got a phone call he wishes he hadn't answered.

Ridiculous that thousands of hours of work is now just a bunch of smudges (and I'm only talking about Koops' wonderful work ;-). If you're looking for new SSP drawing contributions... just check the EXIT door (sad).

The One | 338.3m | 94s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners l u/c

This thing is breaking the sound barrier now (compared to a few months/years ago ;-).

Walls poured and forms for the next floor slab underway.

Forming up some more (missing) corners. At some point I knew why the corners, supported by the hangers, were left until later to be poured... but now I've totally forgotten.

I'm flummoxed too. Whose copyright is being infringed upon by the artistic depiction of buildings? Can someone elucidate who is behind this nonsense?

After the copyright crack down on karaoke... harmless, beautiful (original) drawings of skyscrapers had to be in the crosshairs eventually.

SSP... where talent, skill, imagination and discussions of anywhere outside of the usa... go to die.

I mean it would almost certainly be covered under fair use. It's pretty clearly an artistic re-creation of any copyrighted product to report on and visually represent data on buildings, and does not overstep the copyrighted purpose of proposed architectural drawings that any architectural firm may have prepared.

The likely problem is SSP got slapped with a lawsuit threat and the solution was to blur proposed buildings, rather than risk a court proceeding, even if they likely would have won at court under fair use. This site is basically run on a volunteer basis from what I remember, they likely just didn't want to deal with it.

How this website operated for 20 years without issue on this is probably a better question, and the easier solution would likely have been to simply blur the buildings that the architectural firm or developer who complained is responsible for.
