That field for it's size feels very hidden. The city did a nice job with it, and if you have kids it has a cool pirate themed park.
Apart from the night lights you wouldn't know it's there.

Nice ones, the first photo on the left side with uc building is that Four Hundred tower.
One Hundred. First of two towers. The proposed Garment Street project would be just to the left of that. In the second pic, Charlie West would be Kitchener's new tallest, right in the centre. The even taller Duke Tower would be over in the buildings at the right of the photo.
Five years from now, Kitchener may actually have a skyline!
Best part of this picture is that it was taken a bit after midnight. We aren't north enough to get midnight sun, but the 24 hr twilight of this time of year is still pretty cool.

The only place I've witnessed that was Edinburgh. It is pretty cool but I suppose the trade off comes in the dead of winter when the sun doesn't rise very high in the sky.
Definitely. The limited sunlight in the winter is low and weak. There is a beauty to the winter sun, but the lack of strong bright sunshine can get tough.
24hr daylight is a fascinating experience. On the solstice I will post a shot from Kuglutuk I took a few years ago near the solstice while on a midnight walk.
Still Edmonton gets considerably more sun light in the winter that most people think.
My first trip to the North was to Inuvik years ago on a Feb day. The sun didn't rise until 11:30 am and then Set at 2:pm. That was tougher. And thankfully I have never been to the high Arctic during the 24hr night. usually get there after the sun creeps over the horizon again.
