Not if there are no zoning changes or variances required.

But that are isn't zoned commercial so it's a moot point.

Its just what I had heard from a couple coworkers who live in the area. If it did happen and was and Irving, wed have to assume the one on Canada St. wouldn't stay.

If they want to get some of the through/truck traffic, moving the one on Canada Street makes sense. Especially since it's on the same corner as the Ultramar anyway (which seems to be busier whenever I go past it, although that could be due to the pizza place and Timmies).

The Ultramar most likely is busier due to the other businesses that share the parking lot. *IF* Irving did move up to the end of Bridge by Rte 8 and set up something similar to what they have on the Hanwell I think they'd do a lot more business. Way more traffic through there now than what they'd be getting on Canada.

I noticed that on Monday as I was going by. They seem to have pounded in reinforcing steel into the ground all around the site (or whatever the term for it would be; a flood wall maybe?) and now it's time to dig out the dirty centre.

To touch on a theme from the Moncton and SJ threads, I assume the hotel will need a tower crane, will it not?

Steel is likely in place to keep the earth from caving in during excavation.

In regards to the work going on at the bypass and Bridge street: it's an archaeological dig. Turns out there are some artifacts undereath the bypass: https://twitter.com/LauraBrownCTV/st...67807913955328

There is a survey you can fill out now for helping guide Freddy's future. I think it's similar to the one that was filled in at the first session.

The anti-horse bar NIMBYs were set up gathering petitions at the market this morning.

Absolutely pathetic.

Work is going well on the Wilmot park water feature. While I don't have any pictures, it is starting to take shape with the concrete walkways around the edges.

What pictures I do have were taken by me this weekend while Uptown was powerless.

First up, we have the Lawtons at Regent Mall:

And secondly, since I was in the area, the Regent Street Overpass:

38 million to CFB Gagetown

This includes 36 million for a new IED Disposal training facility and 2 million for general base improvements.

So apparently, Happy Baker's Dundonald location is opening July 1st.

From an email a coworker sent me:

Quote:
For those interested, I have been advised that the new Happy Baker location on Dundonald street will be opening on Friday July 1st. They will be open for lunch foods all next week and I have been advised that they will have mini homemade pizzas, and oven subs along with the regular menu. (They bought the old ovens from Quiznos).
