Is the sun even out in this photo? Is it even daytime, or is it nighttime? I can't tell because of all the shadows..

Rumor has it that if you see the shadow, you get 6 more weeks of air-rights being sold for taller skyscrapers!

wow that is an awesome perspective.. really stands out from there..

speaking of shadows.. did anyone catch the NPR segment yesterday about exactly that topic? they had some dumbass from city council, who im sure someone on here could identify, who was proclaiming the terrors of the shadows these buildings will create. They called out the "billionaires" who will be buying the units, and generally made a mockery of the whole thing. The story began with mentioning the new emergence of supertall skinny towers in midtown, and i was thinking cool i follow these, maybe it will be a cool spot about the awesome new architecture! then two seconds later, "and the controversy over the shadows they will cast on central park"..

wish i could find the segment. just looked and couldnt track it down, but it was the same old crap we've heard before

Your the man Pete. Last thing anybody wants to have is terrible pizza and thanks for the tip as I am taking that route for a couple of weeks (doing vapor sampling in Paterson then Newark). Every pizza should be a sacrament because it is one of the elite types of food. Although ever since I had some Di Fara pizza in Midwood a couple of months ago, nothing has come close. I'll be sure to avoid it. Probably overpriced garbage too. I noticed bad places tend to be overpriced, and make pizza that tastes like wet cardboard laced with cat piss.

If there's one town with horrid pizza, its Cherry Hill, NJ. Avoid. I hit up a bunch of those places last year while doing my Hazwoper training and they all suck.

But anyways, the skyline does creep up on you. That's the nice thing about NJ. Depending on which highway you take, you can go from seeing trees and car dealership signs to seeing a super long, world class skyline.

My personal favorite is taking the Broad Street ramp from 78 into Newark. Can see NYC in the distance, and on a clear winter day, the smoke of the factories, and the dark contrast of the skyline gives me those euphoric chills.

Ah yes the Broad St. ramp in Newark, that's how I go home! What a view. About that pizzeria, I'd rather go 2 Pizza Hut then eat there garbage!

Ah yes. That wonderful ramp. I use that root 2 go home from work. What a view! About that awful pizza pallor. It is like dry card board. Yuck! I'd rather go 2 Pizza Hut then that place again.

432 becomes lost in the Universe of Skyscrapers:

We can also see several other projects. 30 Hudson for example.

There's a larger resolution version in the aerial thread for NY.

And this is why Hell's Kitchen/Clinton needs to be rezoned!

Is there a possibility of that happening soon?

I think that after the current megaprojects in Midtown East & Hudson Yards are done, the next areas to be rezoned in Manhattan will be around Penn Station (once the current MSG kicks the bucket and Moynihan Station phase 2 is happening) and Madison Square Park (to pay for 2nd Avenue phase 3 perhaps?)

To get rid of the last actual neighborhood in Midtown? I'd rather keep the 19th century housing stock.
