This might help people understand where certain projects are located.

And it's missing so much! Just in that top row of blocks it's missing Dexter & Denny, Rollin, and Mirabella. Maybe they weren't including projects north of Denny or First Hill. Also, Moda is missing. Also it's odd that they don't include much of Belltown or First Hill on the map at all.

it is missing some projects

i like the picture with the stadium its nice

we need a 1100 footer in seattle not just a 1000 one but a 1100 one
we need the title of the tallest building this side of the Mississipi again
this is such a nice city and we have a good economy too we also need more trees

I have higher hopes for "more trees" than I do for "1100 footer". Actually, I think more trees is a far bigger priority anyway. Every street should be lined with 'em, and shady ones.

With Greg Nickles as mayor, you may get your wish for an 1100ft tower. He's the most progressive developer friendly mayor in Seattle history. Seattle is not a tree hugger town. Portland owns that title. Seattle is filled with greedly, selfish rich people who cut down trees for views. We have a Supreme court judge who plays bumper cars at 2.5x the legal limit and another supreme court judge who illegally cuts down neighbors trees to preserve his view.

Seattle needs palm trees just like the eastside.

The Columbia Tower was supposed to be 1000ft even but Sea-Tac got 1ft lopped off each floor.

The Safeco Field picture is outstanding, nice work.

Amen. This mayor may just be ensuring job security in real estate development for the next 40 years. Bless Him.

does anyone know what is going on at the plaza of the building on 5th street directly across the street from the central branch of the seattle library? They seem t be destroying it. Are they building a new building or just renovationg the park/plaza thing?

That's a $40,000,000+ renovation of the old courthouse, which will continue to hold part of our federal courts. A below-grade garage is going in on the west side, which I suspect will kill those fantastic big trees. A new plaza will be built above.

There seems to be the beginning on activity on the site of the former Speakeasy building on 2nd and Bell, I believe, that had an MUP for an 8-story residential building. They demolished, put a fence up, and then nothing for several months. Now there are several large metal containers on site that look like dumpsters on steroids. Does anyone know whether this is going to finally be constructed?

There was some other work being done there a few weeks ago (trenches were dug up and refilled and there was some drilling), but other than that, no obvious signs of imminent construction activity at that location.

I didn't know about the trenches. That could be a good sign -- utilities are often relocated or at least identified and/or repaired right before a project.

My guess was that the containers were from another project. Stuff has been parked on that lot for two years. (I think it was mid-2005 when the building was torn down.)

well thats because Seattle is a big city now and all the rich ppl like nice views

hey if i was rich i would buy a condo at Olive 8 and 1521
and Seattle does need more trees its a nice city and it should keep its title of Emerald City because of the trees nout just because of the water
as for the palms!?! i dont think they would fit in in Seattle maybe if we destroy old ugly buildings and make nice condo projects in downtown they will look good but for now i dont wanna see any palm trees in downton

I went by the Fortson building this morning and noticed it's now called the Quintessa Apartments. When did the name get changed?

Nice pics! I've got acouple of questions though:
-Is fortson a renovation or new construction?
-did the king countyoffice building (which IMO looks much better than the rendering) replace theold hideous parking garage?
And on an unrelated subject:
Will they be painting the seattle aquarium on the waterfront entirely in green or will they keep it half half like it has been for some time now? It looks very odd at the moment.

Thanks for posting the pics. I hadn't realized that the KC office building was so far along.
