Do we have a definitive “official” height for this tower now that it has topped out? It still seems so odd that this was built without any common knowledge of an approved building permit from the city giving approved height.

There is a height listed somewhere in the thread but the Mods? are too lazy to add it to the thread title? (just a guess)

Nope, not lazy. Never seen the actual final height number.

But thanks for your assumption...I guess.

Those last photos are a great comparison for the window sizes to Park Avenue on the right - the 13 story tower there that was once one of the swankiest towers in the downtown. I used to live on the sixth floor of it and take care of someone’s plants on the 13th top floor - magnificent views of the river and downtown. It looks like the windows in Baydo’s are much larger. I never felt claustrophobic in the Park Avenue building, it just needed a major renovation. so many people in Saskatoon are about to get some of the most incredible views of the city.

Hence the "?" It's only been four or five years since the thread started. Never know.....

It was talked about at the beginning of this thread, on speculations of what the height could be - just no final number confirmed. I'll update it once there is.

The siding is clearly going up in the last photos.

Looking at the renders and counting, I do believe this tower is 24 floors and the one to come is 25, with the rec centre on top and a big set of windows facing east-ish, if I'm not mistaken. A variance that will hopefully be evident once it reaches completion. (jokes expected.)

How long has this been under construction? I feel like theyve been adding floors since I started looking at this website years ago.

Do they only have 1 person working on site? I work at this same pace (glacial) when doing home renovations solo so thought I'd ask. Lol.

More seriously, how does this pace impact financing? Seems the lender would expect much faster progress, but perhaps they don't care as long as the payments are being made. Not my area so not sure how lending for something this scale works. Similar questions for permitting.

At least the north building looks to be moving. The south building was progressing and then apparently just stopped.

I used to make a point of driving by here on the way to work, as I did for the River Landing construction, but it is too boring to bother anymore.

Hopefully, some of the other buildings move forward in the city centre!

There is litigation ongoing that relates to insurance. This arose after neighboring properties claimed shoring issues.

Thanks Stormer, for the news. 3 months and the second tower hasn't progressed, nor the base. Litigation can take years. Are the eight employees under a stop-work order? I hope it doesn't just rot and become an eyesore.

I've heard that their plan is to complete the first tower (and rent it, I presume) along with the common area before carrying on with the construction of the 2nd tower. No confirmation of this, but it is plausible, so long as all the life safety systems are in place a commissioned.

I think they were just doing the tower unfinished inside, but finished on the exterior.

Nevertheless, they are working on it again and it's looks like they'll be moving up shortly.

Pssst...there's been movement on site. The crane was in action this week. Plus the slipform appears to have moved up a floor. (sorry, no pictures)

I liked their final renders better, but it seems they fell back on grey and darkness over uplifting beige. The blue is a streak of genius at this stage. Anyway, my friend of a photographer, if you're nearby someday, can you snap and post a new pic to show this project is still developing? The Library is nearby, too. Thanks. My legs are shot.
