I hope they can execute the Maple Leaf motif on the balconies well. That will either turn out amazing.. or dreadful... no in between. Let's hope it's the former instead of the latter.

I don't see how you can make pure cheese look amazing but, I'm not one to get excited over any LED lightbar installation. The crown could turn out great. It just won't.

Yeah, i'm not sure how it can turn out well without looking a little tacky but I guess we'll see. Crown does have a chance to be nice.

It's nothing but crass consumerism. A 1000 well placed leaves on each of the towers' broad sides has the capability of artistic whismy over cheese.

Will they ever get all the LED working at once is what we should be discussing.

It's a bit tough to see the Maple Leaf shape in those renders and that with the artist showing us them all lit up. it seems like a pointless gimmick. I do like the tops of the buildings but you have to wonder how many birds these towers will kill each year when those lights are on. I hope they use some sort of fritted glass to reduce the number that die.

They aren't moths. The lights can confuse birds and have them fly in the wrong direction. They will be turned off at that critical time. Actual bird strikes happen a lot closer to grade; the first 3 or 4 floors. If I remember correctly, Toronto now demands all expanses of glazing to have a bird friendly frit pattern for these floors.

I know they are not moths, but any bird startled or lost at night are drawn towards light sources to navigate. This is why the city has regulations. I'm curious how many birds have been saved since the introduction of FLAP, and new building codes.

I like the beefy podium but can't think of a cheesier gimmick on any condo being built in the country right now. Seems like something that was brainstormed as a pitch for foreign investors from China and Russia. This is a case where I'd actually welcome the design having the LED's value engineered out of it.

Sorry, I got confused when you mentioned fritted glass.

Not sure. We need to find the cause of these mass die offs. Hundreds of thousands of migratory song birds found dead in a New Mexico desert and over a million sea birds found dead in the Pacific Ocean just in 2020. US city lights could be responsible. If not than this is really a moot prevention.

No need to add to natural causes with man made structures when we know how to mitigate them.

I suspect few would speculate these mass migratory bird extinctions as natural hence why I brought it up. Turning off the lights during migration season is redundant if no birds are migrating. Toronto has also been turning off the lights during migration season for many years. Concern over these proposed lit crowns confusing migrating birds so they fly around until they starve to death has been addressed long ago.

When was the last floor slab poured on the main tower? 100 days ago or more. They aren't ready to pour the next one anytime soon either.

Someone not following too closely would think it has been put on hold.

I thought taking 4 months to demolish some 2 storey buildings was slooooow
