Yep the picturesque “Garden City” neighborhood based on Henry Wright’s plan of Radburn, New Jersey. Truly provides a community feel by having the entrance of houses facing toward each other with communal sidewalks rather then a road. The roads are treated like back alleys and are quite narrow which helps make the area exceptionally safe.
In terms of tree canopy simply put it’s quite exceptional both in the variety of species, scale of trees, and the understory beneath the trees. One of the bright spots in Winnipeg in that regard.
My main critique is lack of density. Even my German professor who lives in Wildwood thinks that more row houses and small apartments would have been able to make this area more walkable because it’s limiting factor is lack of commercial aside from Pembina. The population density of the area is about 900 people/sq km less then half the density of Winnipeg which in of itself is a low density city.
