The company that owns Prince Edward Square also owns Parkway Mall. What an impressive portfolio

Have we ever got any confirmation as to what they're going to do with the big concrete wall of the Peel Plaza parking structure, or are they just flying by the seat of their pants on this one?

You'd think this late in the game we'd have some sort of idea as to what it's going to look like when finished.

My favourite, not only because of the colours, but also because it does something with the west-facing wall that you see when exiting the Harbour Bridge to Uptown:

Looks like we can rule this one out:

I can, sadly, totally picture them just bolting a billboard to the side of the west-facing wall. The wall would also be prime realestate for some sort of projection advertisement. It's literally the first thing you notice when you exit for uptown, afterall.

But hey, gotta pay the bills, right?

I know this is a bit off topic....but....

Does anyone know what the prices to park in the Peel Plaza Parking Garage are going to be, or if only employees of Peel Plaza & the Courthouse will be allowed to park in there?

Also, I heard a rumour on the weekend that the Brunswick Square Parking Garage will be charging for parking 24/7. Anyone else hear anything about this??

Not sure what the prices will be. BUT I can confirm that the garage will be for use for the general public which would include Harbour Station events.

I'm pleased to report that it is actually not one big concrete wall - I drove by it and there is a small space between each vertical panel with interior light coming out. So there is still hope it will be the big grey monster.

There is an article in today's TJ saying that Mayor Norton is going to make the suggestion that a new fourplex be built on Long Wharf.

I know someone in this thread suggested that but I forget who...i'm sure you win some sort of prize.

Edit: Page 14 of Council's Agenda for November 19th is Norton's submission on the matter:
http://www.saintjohn.ca/site/media/Saint...0Agenda%20Packet%202012-11-19%283%29.pdf

Essentially he states that it is a central location between the LBR, Harbour Station, and the Uptown, with plenty of space for onsite parking as well as connectivity with Harbour Passage and bike trails.

I'm really glad that Mayor Norton has his head (and heart ) in the right place.

The mayor probably read about it here and thought it was a good idea....

Don't kid yourselves, we pretty much know that the Moncton threads are read by influential people. I don't think the Saint John thread would be any different.

Yes but let's only focus on our good ideas.

That would be a nice central location for a police station.

It was me, and I may or may not have heard about the idea before I posted it here...
