it's a bit small....still impresive however. it would've been better if they had gotten a better quality totem pole. it looks like as if it's made out of plastic.

^ I completely agree with you. Those blue and green panels as well look plasticy, they should have used metal with a high gloss finish.

those who have been at the Link building knows it looks much better in-person than on pictures. Complete different feeling. =)

imo, the fake-looking totem pole kinda ruins the atrium interior.

very true... and there are some nice looking totem poles they could have moved from other parts of the airport...

the fake-looking pole i was talking about. it doesn't look half-bad in picture, but in person i find that it ruins the atrium.

and of course, the future Canada Line entrance at the second level.

I hope to see a similar looking ceiling at the YVR-Airport station. But that's probably not going to happen though.

I also hope to see multi-lingual signs at the YVR-Airport station and have lots of signs at the airport for "Trains to Downtown Vancouver/Richmond" around the entire airport.

the ceiling lighting feature is nice, but the white roof is a little dissapointing as well. if you look closely, in person, you will see that it's basically the same material as an office floor roof:

a similar looking roof for YVR Station? that's a bit too much. i'd like a simple and elegant design...and from what i can see in the renderings, it looks like it will be a glass roof - a huge sun roof.

They're starting to couple Chinese signs with the French and English signs....only a matter of time before we take over this place....

I truly don't get this one, why on earth couldn't they not commission a real totem by a BC band artist, they are enough well renowned and awesome BC first Nation artist here????????

Kansas City must have some kind of airport! It got a perfect rating. I'm surprised by how low Vancouver scored. It was the lowest rated out of all mid-sized airports.

I was sort of surprised by that as well, although I have read comments on travel sites with airport ratings that a lot of travelers are frustrated with the endless construction at the airport, and the dismal, rundown condition of the Air Canada side of the domestic terminal.

Personally, I think the parkade needs to be expanded (and cleaned once in a while for that matter), and I really think the domestic baggage claim area needs to be brightened up a lot as it's so freaking dark. The carpets are also worn in a lot of the airport, even in sections of the fairly new international terminal.
