Wishing you and your son the best O-tac! It's not something I can claim to relate to personally so can only imagine what you're going through at the moment.

I know we've had our disagreements, but wishing you and your family nothing but the best. I can't imagine the toll that takes on you and your partner, but it shows the true (great) character in both of you to manage through this.

O-tac. Rough brother.

Stay tough. One day at a time. I know you'll get through it. And some day your kids will admire your resolve, courage and perseverance.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone! Seems like we made it through the roughest part but still more time for recovery.

I’m relieved it’s over and baby seems to be healing!

This article alludes to something I've been wanting to say for a long time in this thread. Watch your kids' screen time closely. Even when they are very young. Maybe especially when they are very young.

I know full well that pre-schoolers are going to have an appreciable amount of screen time. My kids had screen time when they were little.

But you really gotta watch that. Screen time (too much of it) really has an impact on both behaviour and school performance. You can tell in elementary school - it's very obvious.

That is great to hear. Sending healing vibes your son's way.

Thanks Molson! It’s amazing how quickly the body heals every day. Finished the antibiotics this morning.

Is screen time great? No. But it sure helped in the 13 hours we spent at the children’s hospital. It’s also been a saving grace post op for multiple scenarios.

Late to the party, but wishing you and your family the best for the road ahead. Happy to hear that the roughest part is behind you.

I wasn't referring to your situation or exceptional circumstances.

Glad your son is doing better. Those little twerps right out of the box sure can heal fast. You notice it a lot more as you get older. And don't heal as fast.

Our son was born 10 days ago. First few days were exhausting, but we seem to have the sleep thing under control now. Luckily he has been pretty good about sleeping at night, but just needs to be fed every 2-3 hours. My wife takes the late night shift and I take the early morning shift. We settled on my wife staying up late and then sleeping in, and me waking up early and going to bed early. Both of us get a solid 6-7 hours sleep, and baby gets fed on time.

Thanks everyone! Yeah it's our first.

On a side note, I learned in the first week that I need to cover his peepee with a cloth when changing the diaper. He got me pretty good haha.

Oh that’s a right of passage. Be careful of projectile poop too.
