Oops, my mistake. Yeah, that's only up to about 420ft.

*********

BTW - the RBC shield logo is now back up on the south side of the Royal Tower.
The east side still has the Paralympic and RBC logos.

Even so, a good lease would give the landlord a stick to ensure that the tenant doesn't let the building go to sh!t.

There\s also more movement on some future developments in the area as well, unfortunately it's too early for me to disclose anything yet.
Glad to hear. We've seen very little decent developments lately. The "activists" seem to have won a lot of the battles lately. For example, blocking the Greenwich project and preventing height increases to key areas that would have resulted in a couple of very nice developments.

there are some detailed renderings out for the Salt condo including this virtual tour of the exterior. not crazy about the actual tower but it meets the street nicely.

The tower is okay, I guess, but it IS typical of so so many other Vancouver condo towers.

It was a nice night so I took a little walk and snapped a few pics.

60 W. Cordova is coming along nicely.

Paris Annex, unfortunately remains stalled.

Oh no certain death awaits the occupant of that unit...

Housing project for Natives, they are saving the facade.

Newly painted and almost ready to open. Think I'll spend a few dollars here.

Future home of Sean Heather's Bitter, plus some microlofts. Think I'll spend a few more dollars here as well.

Sign looks good, windows were newspapered over but was able to sneak a peek, looks like there is some work taking place, but it's nowhere near close.

Looks like they've stalled the demo of the Pantages, doesn't appear to have progressed since the last time I was there. While in the alley I met a guy who swears he knew me and that my name was Steve, he offered me anything I wanted too. By the end of the conversation I think he managed to convince me that I was his long lost friend. A couple of minutes later I was asked by VPD in a cruiser what I was taking pics of, when I told him he looked over and seemed confused. My new friend walked away at this point.

Salient's site which had a Bing Thom proposal at one point.

Wow, I must say I am very impressed by Concert's website for this development. It's really cool and the music is pretty catchy too! This is sure to set the bar with other developments in the city.

From your pictures, it looks to me like they've gutted the four smaller buildings west of the Pantages, but left the storefront facades and the entire Pantages untouched.

I smell negotiation tactics here ....

FortisBC sign starting to appear - doesn't look like there'll be one facing Shangri-La.

questions for j-lo: so save-on-meats is still kicking? thought the owners were shuttering the place. also - what's the story with this aboriginal housing place for which the facade is being conserved? i've never seen anything about that. thanks for the great pics, btw.

There is the full logo installed now on the West side. The yellow logo doesn't seem to fit that well, but I'm sure we'll get used to it.

The Aborginal housing will include 24 studios as well as 13 healing lodges.
Here are the details

http://vancouver.ca/ctyclerk/20100923/do...mitfor31WestPenderStreet-PenderHotel.pdf

Save On Meats is due to open very shortly, as SpongeG mentioned, the ground floor will house both a restaurant with cheap eats ($2 soups) and a butcher. One of the floors will house Vancouvers first food incubator rentable to the public, and another will do a bunch of prep work for the Mark Brands restaurants.

International publicity for downtown - not necessarily in a good way

http://www.tmz.com/tmz-tv/

Vancouver Riot

Wondering if this event will have any effect on the buying public as there's talk a lot of folks don't want to live downtown to avoid the crowds and mayhem.
