Brandywine mentions their pending ZC request for 360' buildings in their HQ2 bid flipbook, and that they expect the city to approve it. That would add a lot of height to the visionary renderings.
There is a tower crane going up right now at the Domain. I believe it is for Maravilla at the Domain senior living complex. Here is the crane base as it appeared on Saturday, 11/4.
Interesting, I thought it was all Simon for some reason:
"Simon Property Group is the owner of The Domain, the original section of the massive development. Simon originally worked with Endeavor on the wider Domain project but the partnership ended and the two are now competitors — with Simon basically running the south side of The Domain and Endeavor ruling the north."

I want to see the new apple store on Saturday....I wonder if its bigger?
This is why the two sections are disconnected from each other which is a shame because it could have been seamlessly tied together. That relatively empty strip of road that aside from some hotels and a couple of restaurants is mostly fronted by parking garages. Maybe one day they will make an effort to tie it all together.

The Domain is sure hot right now. It's the place to be for business that's not downtown. With or without Amazon at Broadmoor, that area is going to get crazy. Brandywine's plans for Broadmoor were well into the planning stages before they tried wooing HQ2.
Sweet. And I guess it's just because of the angle, but Domain 10 looks like the tallest one there. Also, I didn't have the floor count for some of these. This is what I counted from those renderings:
The notch at the top of Domain 9 resembles the Google tower DT. Same architect? When the Domain is finally finished out, I think it will deserve some distinction as Austin's North Downtown. From I35 at around the Parmer area, it is clearly defined from north to south. It definitely could use a 400 foot tower, but even now its creating the sense of a town center of a small city in anywhere USA. When you drive around it and through it, there are some sections that are dense and complete looking, and other areas that leave much to the imagination, like where to put a 30 story condo tower or Hotel. What I like most about the Domain is how modern it looks inside and out. I don't necessarily think IBM's rusty Bldg 045 is all that attractive, but it is sort of iconic and I hope it somehow survives the redevelopment. Its the only original structure left from the IBM plant site where I worked for almost 20 years.

Ok I'll say it. All these look basic and lame. I don't like Google Tower and these are half the height. Looks like something in suburban Anywhere, USA. Gensler is the architect of these I believe. Same architects of Google, 600 guad, etc. Gensler is one of the largest architecture firms in the world and it seems the Austin office is focused on rectangular buildings with a balcony or 2 or some obvious cutout for a CVC. Come on George Blume!
