It wasn't a comment on being old. It's just that well, there is nothing sadder than an old man walking one of his wife’s accessories’.

A view is something you can never get tired of. There's always something new (especially in the city) and it's something that can never be taken away from your place.

I never get or got tired of the view from my parents house.

If you dig highrise living/working I don't think you can
ever get tired of the view. I have had this view for the last
six months from my office... every morning it's a killer and
it's only from the 14th floor.

These were the only pictures I could find right now, but I think you get the idea.

if you ever get tired of looking at the place you live, you should move.

it's that simple.

Those guys have been washing your windows for six months? Shouldn't they have gotten them clean by now?

I didn't mean I'd get tired of the view, I just know after awhile it would lose it's effect. It's like buying a new car, looks are great but after awhile it's the functionality of the vehicle that I notice. What's the premium for the river side condos anyway? Has anyone compared condos with the river view to those on the opposite side of the building, with a view of another building?

i would actually like the view of Cap Mall more myself. But I could stare at a building for a long time. Especially when they're lit up at night. I would love to be able to see the US Bank building, the Capital, and Aura at night. Or even Wells Fargo and 500 CM etc. City views are great.

There has to be a few condos with views directly into another building and there must be similar sized units with great views? So, whats the price of a condo with a not so great view compared to a condo wtih a good view, regardless of direction.

A car is mechanical even in its outer beauty, as opposed to a view, or height, or nature which is constantly changing, the hues of a sunset, a new building, rain, fog, ect. The point being thats a view is way more emotional than any mechanical beauty and hence forth hard to determine a length of time that you might become tired of it, a car doesnt change other than getting older.

the inside of the condo can always be changed to seem more updated as well, a view can't be replaced

Yes, views are great. What price tag has Saca placed on a decent view?

It's not the value Saca places on a view, it's the value buyers place on that view. If he can get 200K more for the same unit on the 50th floor versus the 25th floor, buyers see the value in it and they have spoken for the value.

You seem to have lots of questions about the project, contract, pricing, views etc. Why don't you stop by the sales office at Capitol and 5th.

the first thing I'm doing when I move in is hanging sheetrock over all the windows. I'm affraid of heights, you see.

I'm only interested in the dog-walking service. that'll be sweet.

When I was reffering to functionality vs the view, I meant the view comes at a cost to square footage. I've lived in 650-800 sqft apartments, and regardless of the view, I don't know if I can do that again. This project has some substance and units will hold their value but prices are dropping for condo units at the lower altititude. Townhouses in midtown go for $250-300 /sqft. The tower units start at $600/sqft+$500 a month HOA's.
I do need to go down to the sales office and talk to the salespeople.

Remind me never to mention the views again.

Also, may none of you live next door to someone with a small dog. I don't know why but they all yip, and even well insulated walls can't block it. Oh well, you'll have the view to stair at when your kept up all night. That's just part of condo living, right. Just part of the lifestyle

Again, I like the project but will continue to analize the risk and weigh all my options. I realize this forum isn't an advertisement but I'd say a few people on this forum might actually be hurting sales. I don't take any of this seriously but some people might. This is a great way to get an idea of the neighborhood, in any case.

Oh, and this would be alot easier if they would lock in that stupid Arena. I don't care for that project but it has a big effect on downtown developement.

high rise condos use CONCRETE in the construction, floors are genereally 8" to 12" thick, and most seperating walls are also concrete, so if a dog is barking that loud than it should be shot. My friends who live in condos built with concrete construction have had parties with the music very loud, people talking (50-60 people) and other than in the hallway, you cant really hear anything, and even in the hallway it was muted, open the door and damn!!!

smaller condos built with wood and drywall primarily are going to transmit sound much more than a concrete built high rise, just a real world observation, not jumping your case.
