Maybe I'm weird, but I like billboards like this close to buildings. It reminds me of how I used to see urban cities as a kid. Like watching movies from NYC, or so, where the bad guys are running through rooftops and fire escapes and jumping on billboards.

I feel like they could have at least utilized the space underneath the billboard rather than just support beams. It seems a waste of space to just leave it to those support structures when the support structures can be rebuilt/modified in congruence with the new building structure. Oh well...my comments won't change that

Billboards are kind of a funny thing if you think about it. Just a huge sign standing there begging for your attention. That red one up there facing east is comical in a way.

My friends are behind this. This will be an after hours spot showcasing electronic artist. First show is tomorrow. Three months only as an after hours venue...not sure what will be made of the space afterwards.

Not enough of them! The few you see now will apparently start to be fewer and fewer after 2030, KUT has an interesting article about it:

The major roadways serving the city also provide billboard possibilities. Billboards on I-27 or US 84 would generate high traffic exposure of your business.

This site sits under a Capitol View Corridor. Sure does beat what was there before, but yea would have been nice to have 5X the homes with 100% less parking

It's really crappy that the City has stopped adding project info to site plans going through the approval process. But I think the Rainey Tower (by Lincoln Ventures & next to 70 Rainey) is going to be significant.

I happened to be checking the Rainey Tower site plan (among others) for updates earlier this week, and refreshed it at just the right time to see about 15 attachments added with descriptions in the file names that implied a major project. When I started clicking on the links, I got a file was moved message. I refreshed the site plan again, but the file links disappeared. An obvious 15 second faux pas on the City's behalf. But they got away with it.

The CVC coverage is minimal, so something significant could be built there.
