Okay, today was warm. I was seeking shade and appreciating the air conditioned buses.

Wednesday's high at Vancouver Harbour was 28 C (32 C w/Humidex), the low was 12 C.

16C and sunny in Moncton at 8 AM, going up to 28C this afternoon. Thunderstorms this evening.

Hot and dry here, Heat warnings have gone up and Red Flag warnings from Alberta Wild Fire are up as well.

Monday we had 16 wildfires. after the store blew through Tuesday night we now have 44.

Most are in the North Centre of the Province, 9 communities have been put on evacuation notice.

Nothing in the forecast to help.

30 today, and maybe some rain on Sunday but hot and windy for the foreseeable .

I could see the smoke plume from the Swan Hills fire (200km away) on my way home yesterday.

Cloudy, some sunny breaks, and some haze/smoke, and 21 degrees at 1:30PM. What little wind we have will completely calm later this afternoon, so I wouldn't be surprised if a sea breeze develops and temperatures quickly drop along the coast.

Above-seasonal temperatures look to stick around for the next 7'ish days.

EDIT: thankfully the southwesterly winds stuck around until the evening before dying out and giving way to a coastal seabreeze. Very nice day here, high of 25 in my back yard. But when that seabreeze kicked in, it cooled down fast.

This must be terrible to experience, I hope it doesn't get worse. Also a fire in Labrador was threatening the hydro plant there yesterday.

In Calgary, at my home we seem to have missed the season of HVAC off + windows open keeping the house a comfortable temp for our toddler and house guests. We went right from a streak of cloudy, cool days a couple of weeks ago running the furnace, to turning on the AC to keep the second floor at 24C. Some sort of money-burning utilities every day in 2025 so far.

It's been raining at night in Kaohsiung, so the air has been really clear lately (West Taiwan isn't known for great air quality). Temps topped out at 30c.













The absolutely stunning Kaohsiung Main Station.
It's been under construction for a very long time, but the end result was worth the wait.

21C with a humidex of 24 and sunny. It would be nice to experience some of the heat ROC has been having. Instead we are stuck with more below normal weather.

Low of 15C this morning. It was cloudy to start the day but it fully cleared up by noon.
