Besides the warm humid weather today and last nights thunder storms. We have a couple of evacuation alerts in ALberta now. The main one is Swan hills , about 2 hours north west of Edmonton. And areas south of Hinton. That is on the eastern slopes of Jasper National Park just outside the park.

^ Brutal. I hope rain comes, and fast.

Another hot a humid day in Kaohsiung. High of 32C.

I took some pictures around my neightbourhood with the drone at dusk. It felt downright comfortable at 29C.

The below seasonal weather continues. At least the sun has been out the past couple days. Going to rain tomorrow and only be 13. Out west could use this rain.

Too many days me and the fishing crew have had to cancel outings because of rain or wind. Terrible spring. Can't even go to the lake in the evening without having to dress up like it's late fall.

First above average day in a 2 weeks! Cannot believe it!

26C and sunny.

Low of 11C this morning. Typical big variation of spring.

The warmspot was Collins Bay, SK at 29.1C

Warmest low was Meadow Lake, SK at 16.8C.

Seems like we've managed to escape the worst of that awful weather system with bright sunshine and highs of 26C yesterday and today. It's going to hit us soon though. The next few days will be 6 degrees below seasonal.

Just like falcons, hawks and eagles, turkey vultures have been making their way more and more into the city the past 20 years. This is the second time in five years I’ve seen one of these dining on road kill. The first time the bird didn’t even flinch when I drove around it.

That's something I see on a nearly daily basis! There's an old dead tree down the road that often has 20 or more turkey vultures sitting in it. They get a steady diet of possum, raccoon, squirrel and rabbit on our road.

Weather forecast for the prairies doesn't look good for fighting fires, expect a bunch more to pop up in the next 4-5 days...

No smoke here... yet. https://firesmoke.ca/forecasts/current/

Two gorgeous days after so much mediocre weather. Here was the scene yesterday at Jarry Park, when it was 26 with low humidity. Today is pretty much the same.

Then it's back to grey weather tomorrrow...

State of emergency declared in Manitoba. Flin Flon and Cross Lake are being evacuated due to forest fires. I think upwards of 15,000 people will be coming to Winnipeg.

Dang. I'm hoping for the best for Manitoba. Those heat waves come at a cost these days.

I went up to Tainan for a few hours - it's an easy twenty five minute train ride from Kaohsiung, and it was........hot and humid. High of 33C.

27C and sunny. Perfection. No wind as well. Compare Kilgore's photos with last week's depressed faces. It's such an extreme contrast.

Low of 12C this morning.

The warmspots were Ashcroft and Kamloops, BC at 35.9C.

Warmest low was Howe Sound (Pam Rocks), BC at 15.8C. Surprised not one station in the county was able to take the daily title off the BC islands. Super gusty winds which explains the high low.

I see Toronto and Windsor in the mid to low teens today. Montreal's monthly mean is now higher than Windsor's. And YUL has had its coolest May in years.
