I agree. At first glance it's pretty wild, but in this context, as a party lounge that people only go to from time to time, it's perfect. These types of spaces are good opportunities for bold design.

EXACTLY this! It feels like absolutely everything these days is cold, lifeless greys and dark blues. Designers seem to think that look is sleek and modern but it's actually corporate and depressing, especially in the winter.

More interesting, bold, and 70s esque colours are back in. We don't have to only be bound by sterile muted tones all the time. I guarantee it will change at some point when the current finishes reach the end of their life cylce. Then all the miserable folks will rejoice at the fact that their sterile colours will come back.

It doesn't make someone "miserable" to find that carpet ugly LOL, it's just calling a spade a spade. Nothing wrong with colours, "moroccan style carpets" offer colourful and cool designs. However it's important to note that none of them look like they got their inspiration from a lime flavoured slurpee
