29C with a humidex of 33 and sunny. Some convection and thunderstorms this afternoon around 4:30PM. Then the sun was back up this evening.

Low of 16C this morning. Beautiful and mild.

The warmspot was Longueuil (St-Hubert airport), QC at 29.8C.

Warmest low was Downtown Montreal, QC at 17.6C.

Like it is often the case, Montreal warms up quick nicely in May and is a full degree warmer than Toronto. MTL is also warmer than Windsor so far this month. Monthly mean of 13.3C in Toronto, 14.0C in Windsor and 14.4C in Montreal.

Dewpoint of 19.8C in Mirabel, QC this afternoon. Highest such this year.

It's the long weekend we've earned and deserve.

Hope they become more common. I've started noticing a few trucks with front grills very nearly taller than me You should need a special license and a permit based on demonstrated professional need to even be allowed to look at one.

The payphones still linger for sailors - but I think those days are gone. It'll be a long time before there's a line of 30 Russians or Venezuelans waiting for their turn

Enjoy the sun and near seasonal temperatures in YYT today and tomorrow, because looks like we're in for a long week of onshore flow, RDF, and frigid temperatures from Monday into next weekend (or possibly longer).

13C and mostly cloudy in Moncton at 1 PM, going up to 19C later this afternoon.

Some yard work beckons. It is getting very difficult to procrastinate any further.

Merlin app heard my first Canada Jay in my yard. Genuinely never heard that name for them, and it's the proper name. I know them as Whiskey Jacks, and assumed their common name was Gray Jay. Thanks, Merlin!

They're not rare on the island - we used to feed them by hand at our former summer cabin in Grand Beach when I was growing up - but I don't recall ever seeing one in the city.

Today's weather has been all over the map. Started with a pre-dawn thunderstorm, then sunny and calm, then cloudy and a downpour, back to sunny, back to rain. Currently overcast and breezy.

Two things...

Marty advises the city is full of tourists, enough so he asked me was a cruise ship in. Maybe Trump effect? Canadians coming here instead of whatever they had planned?

Also, there's an iceberg on the horizon through the Narrows. Social media in the city has gone nuts. I wouldn't be surprised if it'd be a 40-minute drive to Signal Hill right now.

Overcast day. Kinda blah. Went for a walk in the forest.

A wall of green

The Northumberland Forest is part of the Oak Ridges Moraine. Some Moraine history/info, if anyone is interested.

Looking at the forecasts, it seems that the next few days are going to be pretty terrible warmth wise coast to coast. The daily hot spots might end up being in the NWT.

Yes, looks like we might have an historic lack of warmth for the next while here.

15C and overcast at noon. Started raining this afternoon and the temperature dropped. Crappy.

Low of 12C this morning.

The warmspot was Garden River, AB at 24.0C.

Warmest low were Point Pelee and Harrow, ON at 11.8C.

Winnipeg recorded flurries the morning of May 18th. Honestly I'd rather not get a heat wave if that is what will happen afterwards. And before someone says that it's only a few flurries... it is the second half of May... and on top of that, the high was only 6C.

A mix of sun and cloud with some scattered showers.
I've had to turn the heat on for a bit in my apartment the last few days.

Sunday's high at Vancouver Harbour was 16 C, the low was 10 C.

A cool and damp week upcoming.

It's basically a winter day.

Poor jeddy1989 We had to repair and repaint the trim on his cat cafe, and he was reading the wood filler tin, "Do not use in temperatures below 10C or within 24 hours of rain... well, I guess you just can't use this here, not sure why they even sells it..."
