The huge surface parking lot scaring the Old Port will finally disappear. A concealed multi-level parkade with a green roof and kiosks on its side will occupy about a third of the site. The remainder will be transformed into a beautiful public square opening up a pathway towards the Civilization Museum. This area of the city, offering such beautiful views upon the Old Town, looked like a war zone in the 70's and the wasteland created by this parking lot prevented both the locals and the tourists from enjoying this beautiful site. Finally, the transformation which began in the 80's will finally be complete!!!

I love projects that eliminate despised eyesores, even if they are small.

The design is very modern and I do have some reservations about its proximity to the heritage area. But I see there are already modern developments nearby so I suppose it's fine.

It seems very big city, yes? If I pulled up to that on a cruise ship, I'd expect millions of people to be living on the other side of that hill.

So City Square III could be a 17 storey tower with the same design as the low-rise twins? That would be pretty cool. It is a very nice design for Hamilton, would be nice if it could make an actual noticeable impact!

Based off of google earth rendering it likely won't make a big impact from the traditional views.

#2 is my favourite as well. #5 needs to lose its baseball cap on top. #6 looks like the worst possible angle of what is probably a cool-looking building.

Overall, AWESOME stuff! This height is new for Ottawa, isn't it?

Even though Calgary has too, too many twins... I'd take those two 50 story towers!! They'd be a good fit in Cow Town!
