Thanks SO MUCH to those of you posting construction photos. I'm living away from the city right now, so simply visiting the sites is not so easy for me. I appreciate it!

Looks like construction has started on The Afton. The site has fencing around it and some heavy machinery..

New...

Another project aimed at students is in review with the City of Boise. This one would be at Beacon/Boise. Really striking design.

5 stories if height exception approved, roof dec, rec center - and the corner windows would be lounges on each floor.

Wow... seems like there's still bullishness on growth at Boise State. Don do you have any word on vacancy rates of the four new developments in the Lusk neighborhood?

Harris Ranch

I was surprised this road is being cut so high up into the foothills above Harris Ranch in SE Boise.

Boise Art Museum Wants to Remove Trees, Increase Visibility

Officials at Boise Art Museum want to make BAM more visible, so they've requested the Boise Parks and Recreation Forestry Unit remove seven crabapple trees from the front of the museum.

Harris Ranch

That cut and fill site work is Harris Ranch North, shown as E in site rendering below. Site plan (huge pdf) here: http://pdsonline.cityofboise.org/pds...02030915443070

Also, barely a mention in the MSM is the newly opened Harris Ranch South Bypass. Warm Springs Ave, after taking a sharp dogleg to the South just past Barber Hills Nursery (just left of area D) now routes south of the western traffic circle which carries WS across Parkcenter. WS curves around to the east for about a mile where it curves back to the north and intersects Parkcenter again. Yep, we have the intersection of WS Ave. and Parkcenter, twice. Confused? Keep reading. Parkcenter, which terminated at the west traffic circle has become WS Ave and now takes the former route of WS Ave all the way to the new, uh old, WS Ave just a mile east.

Shown in the rendering below, but yet to be completed--- Barber Valley Drive (A) is supposed to connect with Wise Way and will incorporate another traffic circle as it crosses WS Ave, er, HR South Bypass, er, I don't know.

Don't bother with google maps because it's not updated yet.

Here is the Idaho Statesman article on Boise Hunter Homes hillside project for 173 homes priced from $500,000 to $700,000 from March 19,2015.

Development related insofar as it's indicative of continued population growth and demand for phone numbers: http://www.boiseweekly.com/boise/ida...nt?oid=3638924

Queue references to the Seinfeld and Simpson episodes dealing with 10 digit dialing.

Looks like it could be any of the W-S brands - which include Pottery Barn and West Elm. I sent a note to W-S seeking comment

Boise Shows Its Love!

Quote:
Last night, Boise voters approved a $10 million levy that sets aside funds for clean water and open space—with a resounding 74% of the vote. The wide margin of support illustrates that Boise voters are willing to step up to protect the values that make Boise special, including the Boise River, foothills, open space, clean water and wildlife habitat.

New funds resulting from this latest levy are not limited to land acquisitions in the foothills though. This time, the Boise River is included, along with the potential to fund recreation enhancements and protect clean water, native plants and wildlife habitat. - See more at: http://www.idahoconservation.org/blo....hOXfA08b.dpuf

Sucks we aren't going to get to see the 17 story version come to fruition, but sounds like this design will welcome in the general public as well, which is always a good thing. Another empty lot down!

A West Elm would be nice. A Design Within Reach would be better, though
