I popped in the new Hansen Lubbers store at 144 James North today - seems like a great shop with some beautiful furniture and accessories. The owner mentioned that they plan to open up the basement level in the next week or so with expanded carpet selections.

There are some pics of the beautiful new storefront on the White Elephant blog: http://www.loveitalot.com/2012/03/ha...-addition.html

Definitely a great addition to the street.

The owner is now planning to create some high-end large apartments on the upper floors.

That's how it's done...one building at a time, one little business at a time.

Thanks for the pics. Still my favourite street in the city.

There is already 5. That will make 6 and the one at Fifty Rd. will be 7. Then number 8 will be at Mohawk and Upper Sherman. Then there is a couple more in Burlington. So we will have 10 in the GHA within a couple of years.

To be fair, I only count any WMSCs in or near Ancaster, Dundas, Lower Hamilton, Upper Hamilton, Lower Stoney Creek, and Upper Stoney Creek. XB

So the Rymal location doesn't count? It's in Glanbrook. ;-)

If you want to be really picky, the Winona store will be the first one actually within Stoney Creek. The Centennial location is in Hamilton and even at Eastgate, it was on the Hamilton side of the line.

To me, Upper Stoney Creek goes from Dartnall Rd. to Upper Centennial west to east and Paramount Dr. to Rymal Rd. north to south. It doesn't seem like anything that could resemble Glanbrook to me. XD

With all the houses going into Binbrook, Glanbrook doesn't even resemble Glanbrook anymore.

I don't know how many of you will be able to see this photo, but Bill Mehlenbacher posted that William's at Bayfront is getting an addition.

The new Marshalls is opening on March 29th. It's on Upper James where the movie theaters used to be.

http://pressroom.target.com/pr/news/...locations.aspx

This list was updated today, and it now lists Queenston Place getting a Target store. Target is now officially coming to Stoney Creek.

And that news has now sealed the fate of Zellers in Hamilton in 2 years...the Zellers store name is dead here in 2014.
