Auction Set For 750-Foot Transbay Tower Site

Located mid-block between First, Second, Howard and Natoma Streets, across from San Francisco’s Transbay Transit Center rising, Transbay Parcel F is zoned for building up to 750-feet in height and includes the potential for connecting any development on the site to the Transit Center’s 5.4 acre rooftop park by way of a pedestrian bridge over Natoma Street.

... the Transbay Joint Powers Authority will hold a live auction for the parcel on September 2nd.

The TJPA will collect sealed written bids from pre-qualify bidders at the end of August...

I wish there were more mix-use apartment/hotel skyrises happening in the city. I know they are becoming very popular and San Fran would be a perfect city for some of these buildings.

Isn't there an office space moratorium for the foreseeable future due to prop M? I hope they go with residential and/ or hotel. The shape of the lot could make a very interesting tower, I'm really looking forward to it.

I agree the site is ideal for mix-use. It will be interesting to see how much per square foot the site garners, it could be record breaking. One favor, please don't call it "San Fran" - every time we Bay Area folk hear/see that we hear nails on chalkboard in our head

Ocean Ave.

There are a couple of infills on Ocean Ave that is progressing. I was driving by and wasn't able to get photos.

1490 Ocean Ave, former Ocean Ave Gas Station, has construction equipment on site and it seems demo has begun.

270 Brighton, across from Avalon Bay and Whole Foods, is up to the 2nd story.

Finally, 1100 Ocean Ave. Mercy Housing seems move in ready.

It's shut off in these recent photos. It would a real tragedy if it were to be removed.

Skin - Trans Bay Terminal

I think this is the skin for the Trans Bay Terminal - spotted in a construction storage area.

Trans Bay Terminal

I visited this 2nd level patio garden May 28, 2015. When I was last there the view was not blocked. I am amazed as to how big the trans bay structure is. You can get to this secret garden in the 500 block of Mission Street by going up the stairs are just past 1st Street after passing the highrise on the corner.

[rant]The same with that provincial attitude. Seriously, when did so many of us become P.R. agents for the Bay Area to protect some shallow identity. Frisco/San Fran, call it whatever the f*ck you want.[/rant]

Will the skin of the bus portion of the terminal be able to "breathe" from all the exhaust?

Please don't call yourself Cory, it hurts my ears. Please start referring to yourself as Corinthian III.

San Fran and Frisco are terms of endearment people.

Joking or not, I never understood the campaign to ostracize individuals because they call this city one of those two nicknames. It's really annoying when people say "nobody calls it that" just because the "bodies" are not part of a certain demographic; although the alias is often used.

To be clear, I wasn't trying to ostracizing anyone - my post was very polite. I apologize if that's how it came across. I was simply letting him know that many people don't like San Francisco called some of those nicknames. When I lived in SLO, the first time I said "Paso Robles", I pronounced it like in Spanish. I got a weird look and was corrected - "it's Ro-Bulls." I didn't take offense, but corrected myself. Or how "New Orleans" is pronounced "New OAR-linz," not "New Or-LEENZ." Sure, call the City whatever you want, but you might get some looks, and yea, it tells everyone you don't live here, which is not necessarily a good thing.

In other words, I'm just trying to help a brother out, no need to ostracize ME, or takes this thread any more off topic.

Ah, yes--the City of San Fran. You know, that's Spanish for Saint Fran--the patron saint of middle-aged aunts with lots of cats and musty guest rooms.

For She gave Her name to our city...and decreed "Go forth and prosper, and don't forget your jacket. It's going to get chilly later."

Saint Fran
