So true. It hasn't been cold outside for a while now. Wearing a light sweatshirt is enough these days.

Fits in perfectly!
it doesnt seem nearly as tall from this angle as it does from a distance.. probably just an illusion though.. im sure you get a better feel for the height in person

You certainly do. The Freedom Tower has that same effect, but most towers that don't have dramatic setbacks or other indications have that effect. The closer you are, the less apparent the scale, until you're standing directly beneath it.

As for the people concerned about ice rinks, yes, the rinks have been open, including Rockefeller Plaza. The Central Park rink has been used for children's hockey, but enough about that.

Those pics are great NYguy, in those pics it does not look that skinny, this tower I really like, it sticks out from all over the Metro area.

a new height standard has been set in new york. it is as if 300-500 footers are to 432 park as the tenements of the 1920s were to the woolworth building. i am liking this trend in new york skyline, nothing new nothing old about it, and everything of both.

Since the core has been hidden, I realize I like it better that way.

Sorry for the horrendous quality of the picture but was in a business meeting and just had a couple of seconds to get this great perspective.

I have really enjoyed watching this tower rise. I'm also grateful for the lack of a facade that turns the building into a giant mirror in the sky.

There are a lot of great buildings with blue glass facades, 4 WTC included. There are so many of them, that I have started enjoying other facade types more and more.

This conversation could get off topic, so message me if you want.
