I can't confirm that this is true but:
I've read that one of the sharp curves on the original segment of A-15 is there because of the premier Maurice Duplessis. Supposedly, he made sure that some of his friend's land was expropriated by having that curve meaning that the government would pay his friend a lot of money for it.
Duplessis was a long-lasting very right dictator-like premier whose government was very corrupt and favouring friends, family, the elite and those who were wealthy. So it wouldn't be surprising if the Autoroute 15 curve thing is true.
I've also read that the same autoroute has curves that were created to avoid properties of Duplessis' friends so who knows.
