Yep, it's already paid for and construction is starting in 2019. Kinda wish we could get something different than the Flexity Freedom since every other city in Ontario will be using it, but I guess it's up to the province since they're picking up the tab. It does remain to be seen whether Bombardier can hold up their side of the deal though. As it is they're struggling just to deliver Toronto's newest.

So you want a different model just for the sake of being different? Or you think there's another model that would better serve the intended purpose?

Keep in mind also that one model can be made to have different outward styling based on buyer preference. And of course the livery makes a big difference.

Hamilton used to have Nova LFS buses way back from a 1997 order and they were absolutely terrible. A few caught fire while the ones that were left fell apart very quick. They barely lasted 10 years, seeing retirement in 2009. The newer Nova buses I've ridden in Montreal and Toronto seem a lot better than the old ones though. Hamilton is receiving a batch of 40 foot Nova's this or next year through an Ontario consortium order (they picked Nova as their supplier). Hamilton specially ordered these New Flyer buses outside of the consortium order to address overcrowding and service deficiencies.

Boston uses basically the exact same pattern as the classic HSR so it always throws me off.
