I think they forgot about the Kfog kaboom on Saturday =o) I am not sure why it did not come down actually. I will let you know if I here anything about when it is coming down.
that would be cingular (now at&t), but unfortunately they use five bars in their commercials. guess we'll have to build a new highrise on market to line it up.
... Hopefully with the new skyline, they'll be able to do it for real from Treasure Island. All the more reason to make Transbay even taller

Great shots! Thanks. How are they putting up the glass curtain wall? Now that the crane is comming down, how are they bringing up the glass panels - via an elevator?

Thanks! My guess to your question would be that in addition to perhaps doing as you said, they have the glass staged on the floors that remain. Admitingly, I'm not too savvy on construction mechanisms, but I know that SprinkMan among other of my fellow forumers know for sure

Thanks for the vote of confidence Rem =o) In answer to the question of the glass it is already staged on the floors for the ones that the crane was needed for and the others are brought up on the manlift. The 41 and 42 floors are taller and the crates that the glass comes in don't fit in the manlift so that was why they had to be craned up. The glass is not installed with the crane it is actually installed with a small mobile crane that is placed a few floors above. I am not too sure on the technical name of the device but I always call it a dinosaur. It is more of a mobile winch than a crane though. I have seen some pics on this thread I belive that show this in action. I will try to remember to take my camera to work again soon and get a few shot of the lay down process and the installation so it can better be understood. The cost of a tower crane is very prohibative to use it to install the glass as well as the block of the crane needs to be too close to the building for instalallion which it makes for a major safety issue as well as potential damage can be done.

This photo here by downtown dave has a pic of the device in it as well as a worker standing at the location where the next panel will go. If you look 5 floors above the worker you will see it sticking out of the building. Also one floor above him in front of the round column you will see the hook and rigging that is used for the installation.
