Ann Morrison is the largest city park at 153 Acres. There are reserves in the Foothills/Boise National Forest, that are over 1000 acres and Stack Rock is one, which are city parks properties.
I pulled up the city website and a quick calculation of city parks in downtown, adjacent to downtown and within a 5 minute bike ride from 8th Street in the heart of downtown, brings the total to nearly
360 acres of city parks in the downtown area.
There are also the tree lined creeks/reserves/parks in the gulches that are within 5 minutes ride from downtown in the Foothills, such as Military Reserve (734 acres) and Hulls Gulch (292 acres). Including these two reserves, the total park acreage
within a 5 minutes bike ride from the Capitol is nearly 1400 acres.
Hundreds more acres of city parks are in the rest of the city. #CityofParks
