Common council was presented with an update on Fundy Quay. The southern portion of the site (running along Peter’s Wharf) will be turned over to the developer in Spring 2022 - therefore we should expect some renderings well before that I’m hoping. Developer publicly said first building will be $50m so I’m predicting a 19 story building.

Someone snagged the lot at 177 St James St in early June. This is on the corner of the St James-Carmarthen-Queen-Wentworth commercial/vacant block. Maybe just land consolidation.

Makes it wonder where the new K-8 school will be. This is probably the only block on the peninsula where you could build a school without demolishing a single housing unit. I haven't seen any drastic property sales yet that would fit the description for a new school but maybe this is the beginning of one.

The Blue Bin site at 92-102 Mecklenburg has always been my bet. It's a good block, big enough for a lot of students of it's 3 storeys, and was the site of the streetcar garage back in the day.

New sea wall coming along for Fundy Quay development

Although I do hope they rebrand site to something other than Fundy! Like the original South Market Wharf

Dumpster outside of St John the Baptist on Broad last week and the week before. Seems to be some work starting. Doesn't appear to be a demolition.

Whoever snagged the church and rectory for $425K got a good deal. Rectory probably worth $300K alone in this market.

I was looking at the New Brunswick land assessment site and I see St. Andrew and St. David United Church on Germain st. was sold on the 20th of this month for $282,000.

The exodus of tenants from Brunswick Square continues. GoodLife Fitness will not be reopening their location there: https://twitter.com/travisfortnum/status/1420860516176642051?s=19

Things are getting more dire by the month.

Plans for St. John the Baptist on Broad Street have been revealed via the new owner’s Facebook page. If you were hoping for a substantial residential development prepare to be disappointed. The church will be converted into a rock climbing gym called Climb 1884. Apparently it will be the largest in the province. They’re targeting an opening in 6-8 months.

As for the rectory next door? It will be put back on the market tomorrow for someone else to pick up.

A lot of earth has been piled just north of 222 Water St on Murder Hill, level with Prince William. This area is not on the street repair or reconstruction list, and 222 hasn't been sold or made it to the demolition list.

It's definitely coming down soon, as far as I have heard.

Councillor Lowe confirmed via Facebook a contract has been awarded to demolish the building.

Waterloo Street infrastructure upgrades are complete and I have to say it’s looks amazing! This street is ripe for new developments.
