Here’s Toronto’s answer to Longueuil, Leaside Towers.

Cower in fear at its lack of windows.

Leaside Towers? Yes they are huge, the best way to catch their dystopian nature is to drive by them around the time the sky’s starting to get grey. They look downright evil in that lighting. It’s really my least favourite type of brutalism.

I actually love the Leaside towers, particularly how they seem to loom over if you're in the Don Valley. Wouldn't want to live in them though, heard management isn't... good.

I like them for Toronto because they aren't glass boxes.

I love them as well. They're the tallest in East York, and have an intriguing design which is seldom seen in Canada.

That's pretty cool that the Residences Soleil in Montreal proper connects directly to the Metro. Hideous building though. I'd still take it over Clockzilla.

It's funny on the website it lists nearby amenities. Here is the list from St. Leonard:

Timhortons
Convenience stores
ESSO Gas station
Convenience stores Couche-Tard
Cake stores
Petro Canada
Pharmaprix
Inter-Marché
Fish Shop
Cake store and fish shop are likely Google Translates of Pâtisserie and Poissonnerie.

Does that sound better in French?

The front of the building in Longueuil.

We also always seem to forget about this eyesore beside it.

It's nice to see how we in Quebec are in touch with our French roots, as we replicate the lovely architecture of Paris' hottest banlieue housing estates!

Ha ha, Quebec does sometimes try to imitate Parisian architecture although usually it leads up to eyesores like this (thanks Laval).

Do only half the residents have balconies then?

I figured it was a bad translation. Still, what fantastic amenities!

The Hospital Complex is grey and harsh, in other words it perfectly captures the Laval spirit!

The Arena is small and drab.

The Qaurry Pits are cringeworthy.

The UFO Cineplex is atrocious (even by Cineplex standards). There is one in Vaughan symbolically uniting the two cities in ugliness forever.
