So what is open? The casino & restaurants?

Does this mean Edgewater is closed or can they somehow operate both for a limited time?

Same photos yes. The media weren't permitted to take photos, only to use the ones provided.

I visited Parq today. No photos, but it looks really nice from inside. Casino is located on 2nd and 3rd floors and was packed with mostly Asian people. Neither floor is that large and you can tell that the floorplate is fairly small. There are several restaurants that all looked inviting and not badly priced, but I didn't try any.

Now that it is all there, it is pretty remarkable how much they could fit on that rather small lot (or so it felt before construction commenced). I think it is a nice addition to the area, but I am still sad that they dropped the ball on some exterior details.

Thanks Klazu. I can't seem to find any menus online. When you say "not badly priced", are we talking Cactus/Earl's type pricing for some of the restaurants? Or higher?

I can chime in here. My partner and I had lunch at Honey Salt - bill came to $57.00 before tip. That was two meals, Fish & Chips, and Tourtiere, both priced at $18, and two drinks - one each, around $9 a piece. So fairly in line with Cactus/Joey's/Earls, if not a little higher. Food and service were great.

Menu for 1886 – Chinese Fine Dining @ The Parq, MKT EAST and BC Kitchen

Expensive for 1886 - MKT EAST and BC Kitchen seem reasonable.

Oh wow, some items on 1886's list are indeed pricey! I am still looking forward to trying out some of those menus this winter.

I guess if they really wanted to expand they would have to take out the conference rooms:

1886 is pretty dang pricey.

While the food is probably really good (seafood fried rice for $26 though? Um....no), anyone that loves Chinese food, and wants to eat through that menu may as well buy a $600 return ticket to Shanghai, eat better versions of the dishes here for a fraction of the price, and get to explore a cool city at the same time.
