The law firms are going in the Cityscape tower.

There was plenty of demand for this building only 6 months ago, my how fast things change.

I suppose if the building remains mostly empty during the downturn, the one bright spot would be that once recovery begins to happen Phoenix will have readily available Class "A" office space downtown. So a company looking to move at the start of the recovery would not have to wait for new space to be built. Not that large chuncks of empty space downtown is good, but I'm a guy that always has to find the brightside.

I don't remember specifics off the top of my head, however some tenants have already been announced. I believe one was a large law firm (???). In any event, not all of the signed tenants (or the prospective tenants) have been announced yet to the public. The building may initially not be as brimming as we all would have liked, however empty it will definitely not be.
I did not mean empty from a construction perspective but from an occupany perspective.

From the most recent posts, it sounds like there "maybe" tenants. Just to make from whatever perspective(s) clear, a letter of intent does not constitute that a tenant will occupy space. Why I say this is the fact that according to CBRE's website, the leasing brokers, the entire building is for lease:

anyone? At the crown of OCPE, are those lights mounted at the very top, that look like they will light the glass of the crown?....Hard to describe, but if anyone can look with a camera or binoculars, you could see. It almost looks like florescent light panels mounted facing down along each side of the building, as if to light the top glass panels, once installed. Any thoughts if they are????

the glass at the top of the building is going to be back lit so it will glow. The building should be topped out with glass by the end of march. I am not sure when they will start lighting it up at night.

I wonder if what i am seeing are the lights for it? They are at the highest point, looking like they will be directed down from inside where the glass will be.

Haven't been by in a week, but last time i was there, the glass was all the way to the top on the west side...to the top of the crown. From the webcam, it looks that the south side also has glass all the way to the top now. I'll stop by Thursday in person to check it out and take some pictures.

I have a feeling the crown at night on this baby is going to be awesome (especially in comparison to the rest of the crappy night time skyline of Phoenix).

The entire crown (1.5 or so stories tall) is basically a wall of glass, there's no way they won't light that up at night.

still haven't learned not to count your chickens before they hatch, eh?

Phoenix + Value Engineering = harmonious match.

This one actually looks like it won't cut corners...maybe because the developers are from Chicago, where apparently they still take pride in their buildings, unlike local.

This building is really sexy. Is there going to be a spire of some sort, or will it just be a glass box?
