Well, the LEGO Architecture Rockefeller Center is now out, according to the LEGO website. It sells for 39.99 US dollars

Wow, 39.99.Kind of expensive if you ask me, but I don't use legos. I really like just browsing this thread form page one-this page.

If you think that is expensive, think about the FallingWater model: it sells for 99.99 US dollars

Legos are pretty expensive, especially the smaller-medium sized sets. (If you go by cost per piece or by weight, they're more expensive than the largest sets.)

It's worth it though, because the quality is so high.

I have to agree, the Rock is expensive but kinda cool how ART managed to get all the buildings in a satisfactory level of detail. I actually got to build one at work today for display at the Northbrook Court store (yes, I work at a LEGO Store ). But the cool thing is, once it's no longer on display, they "grab-bag" it and sell it for $7.99 and the builder (me) gets 1st dibs. So I'll probably end up getting it for almost $32 less!

The Fallingwater's so expensive because of the type of parts it has. Tan plates are more expensive than, say, black ones. And not to mention the 52 1x2 clear tiles it has! Those suckers are nail-biteingly expensive! Spencer, I think you'd agree with me on this: afterall, we both used over 400 of them for our two different Trump Towers

How come you don't buy the logos on -lets say Ebay so it's cheaper?

Or is this a dumb question?

Brickshelf is apparently a pretty nice place to get used LEGOs fairly cheaply.

I didn't know Brickshelf sells LEGOs...? But, if I were you guys, I'd use Bricklink. It's pretty much an unofficial aftermarket of LEGOs where thousands of buyers/sellers make transactions every minute! It has millions of pieces and thousands of sets available to buy.

People on EBay are trying to make a profit, so they sell it for more money than they got it for.

Wow. Lucky you. Of course, I don't actually buy the Architecture models, I look at pictures of them, then recreate them at twice the size. Does anyone want me to do this to the Rockefeller Center? I have pictures, if anyone wants to see them.

Sure why not!?
Is it just me or have the last 2 pages of this thread been completely dedicated to no other skyscraper than the Rockefeller Center? Don't get me wrong it's an awesome building, but I'm just pointing it out. I'll have to post some pics when I finish my 30 Rock model (see previous pages for LDD download). Although, that probably won't be till Jan-Feb 2011

Woah! Um... Perhaps you could look at some diagrams on SP and see what I mean when I say that the Sears/Willis Tower is the only one that seems to scale. The rest seem a bit too squat,
