Cool anecdote: I had relatives visiting this weekend from the Midwest. As we were walking around one of them said "Wow, there is so much construction going on around here."

Comcast still on a roll. Hiring 40 to boost social media presence and in turn, improve customer service.

Which one will this be? In front of the new garage they just built or the replacement for Penn Tower?

Let's just hope it becomes a reality. We've got a few high profile projects that were announced, approved and lauded only to go nowhere. Still waiting for those two projects at Broad and Callowhill as well as the Mellon Ind. center tower to start. Haven't heard anything about either in 6+ months.

New hospital replacing Penn Towers. The hole in front of 3600 will probably sit for awhile. It looks as they are doing work to shore up land next to garage. (Filling dirt back in)

Don't be concerned, some things take time. We're seeing a ton of development in Philly currently and a lot is getting off the ground. I never had much faith in the MIC tower, but who knows.

The Broad and Callowhill one: developers are still planning to move ahead with it.

Plus how one development does, doesn't always reflect other projects. Different developers and different projects really.

JLT Re, Inc. planning to stay in Philly long term

Quote:
JLT Re (North America) Inc., a reinsurance company that is part of Jardine Lloyd Thompson, has signed a 10-year lease for the entire 17th Floor (31,000 square feet) atUnited Plaza, 30 South 17th Street, the Philadelphia Business Journal reported on March 18.

JLT Re had temporary space in Centre Square for the last two years under an arrangement that expires in October. The company, which has 120 local employees, considered other cities but decided to stay in Philadelphia because of the convenience of flights from Philadelphia International Airport to London, where the parent company is headquartered.

Saw somewhere Mellon isn't supposed to break ground until Spring '17. Damn where did I see that...
