Appears to be on the final floor. Decent looking tower in my opinion, but the immediate area needs a lot of work. This is hopefully the big start of whats to come.

I just realized that green space they are adding next to the biltmore is going to complement the existing green space next to the business school and create a nice open view of the biltmore from both sides of 5th street. That will look pretty cool.

DRC Reviews Proposed Changes to 1100 Peachtree plaza

Quote:
The DRC was complimentary of the proposed refresh and activation of the public areas of 1100 Peachtree at the NW corner of Peachtree & 12th St. Enhancements include the removal of a large entry portico feature and the addition of a new sidewalk, plaza surface, landscaping, and stairs. The scope also includes making storefront façade improvements and enlarging the outdoor dining patio. The DRC suggested additional ways to improve public safety, activation, and aesthetics.

Planning permit filed for development of 1202 West Marietta. This is one block from the new-ish Beltline expansion.

"This special administrative permit application proposes the redevelopment of a 3.857-acre property currently improved with the Mount Ephraim Baptist Church. The property was rezoned to MRC- 2-C in 2023 pursuant to Ordinance 22-O-1642."

Not sure if this is the final design, but last year this proposal was floated for 303 apartments and 56 townhomes:

Yep, the other side of Piedmont is where the Beltline, Path 400, South Fork Conservancy trails, and Peachtree Creek Greenway will one day all come together.

New Downtown Moxy hotel eyes opening for 2026 World Cup

https://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/...world-cup.html

Quote:
A new Moxy hotel could open in Downtown Atlanta in time for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, when Atlanta will be a host city for multiple matches.

The 183-room hotel would rise at 329 Marietta St., in walking distance to major Downtown attractions such as the Georgia Aquarium, Georgia World Congress Center and Centennial Olympic Park.

“Our goal is to start construction in first-quarter 2024 and open before the World Cup,” Pete Patel, founder and CEO of Nexera Capital, said in an email to Atlanta Business Chronicle.

Details on Portman's Amsterdam Walk proposal

https://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/...Pos=3#cxrecs_s
Quote:
Retail, apartments and offices in buildings rising up to 16 stories could take shape on the border of the Virginia-Highland and Morningside neighborhoods.

On Tuesday, Portman Holdings filed a rezoning application offering an early glimpse at its vision for Amsterdam Walk. The Atlanta-based firm plans to transform the eclectic retail hub – close to the BeltLine's Eastside Trail and Piedmont Park – into a mixed-use district buzzing with thousands of office workers, residents and shoppers.

A site plan shows public plazas and five buildings between eight to 16 stories, with the tallest ones concentrated along the BeltLine. The preliminary proposal calls for 900 apartments, 400,000 square feet of offices, 90,000 square feet of retail and 1,435 parking spaces.

Over the next four months, Portman will continue discussing the redevelopment with nearby residents, Greene said. The firm will likely amend the rezoning request as it refines details for the project, he said.
