Here are some random pictures I've taken recently. The fog is generally not that interesting, but when it's lower than my balcony it's pretty cool.

Oh my. Those are some sweet photos. Like Mopacs said, those might just be the coolest photos I've seen on the forum, and I've been on the forum for almost 10 years.

That 2nd one especially is out of this world. With the green lights on AMLI and the blue lights on One Congress Plaza, it looks like a scene from the old War of the Worlds movie.

The fog last night was weird. We were in Southwest Austin and you could see it creeping in moving across the street. Then there would be places where there wasn't any, then bam, heavy fog. It was strange though, because the sky was clear. You could see stars, but then thick fog rolling across the ground. Early this morning/late last night it was really heavy. Our house backs up to a school with some woods, and it looked neat through the trees.

I was just looking at the first shot that Jeremyz took. You can see the sunlight glaring off the fog bank.

It's also amazing to think that in that 2nd photo, none of the buildings shown there existed before 5 years ago, including the one the photo was taken from. Just think, no one would have had that view, and the only thing that would have shown up if you had been able to see it was the blue glow from One Congress Plaza.

Wow! The picture of fog creeping thru Austin downtown remind me of my childhood hometown, San Francisco.. Jeremeyz, you should sell this picture to postcard company because it is a San Francisco picturesque! Good job there!

Re: the night fog photo. You could photoshop Santa and his 8 reindeer at the top and have "Happy Holidays from Austin, Texas" at the bottom. It'd make a great Christmas card.

I like the facade on that Shoal Creek Walk. I'm just not sure about the shape and setbacks. It could easily look bulky. Of course I like the color, and I really like that overhang at the top. One thing though, I counted 23 floors in the rendering, but they're showing 27 in that diagram showing the mixed uses.

I'm sure I'd be able to see it from my neighborhood from at least one spot since Spring shows up big time there.

Man, that's exactly what I was thinking. A few nights ago we were coming home, and there's one street where everyone decorates with lights, and from waiting at the stop sign, you can see all the lights as the street curves just right. Anyway, it was foggy that night and it looked like something out of a greeting card. Of course Jeremyz's gives it that skyscraper fan's touch.

Even though there probably won't be any major projects breaking ground for a year or two, it's great to see developers still trying to move projects forward. Hopefully Austin's high rise boom is only on pause.

I really like it. They did a great job working around the Capitol View Corridor. It doesn't look like there will be ground floor retail, or does it have to include that? Also, I thought this was Whole Foods land. If it is I wonder if they will take up some of the office space.

Just a few pics from Wednesday (12/9) from my neck of the woods. The W is really starting to stick up in places.

The first two are from Cooper Lane just north of William Cannon.

From Emerald Forrest Drive.

The next three were from the William Cannon railroad bridge.

The W's going to look huge.

I was using these photos as an excuse to take out my "new" bike. It's a 1979 Schwinn Suburban.

I like the design! Notice that approaching from the east on 6th street, the building will take on sort of a Nix Hospital angular effect... There will be the illusion of a free-standing "wall'
