That building is 1 block from my wife's shop. I see it every day. I have eaten meals sitting at the fountain in the last picture.
You can't really tell from those photos, but the
best thing about it is how it stitches together the university with the neighborhood main street just beyond. Before this building was built, the neighborhood & university kind of turned their backs on each other. But in recent years a bunch of new buildings have been built along the neighborhood main street, and this building turns the university around to face the neighborhood.
See the little tunnel in the lower left of your last photo? It's an entry gate between the university and neighborhood. Really nice.
