I hope they break ground soon. I'l be very happy to see that parking lot bite the dust.

I always wondered, though, why they didn't buy the Underground Wonder Bar to be able to expand the hotel a little more. I mean, seriously, nothing will be able to come of that now anyway.

I've always been confused about this. So is 412 n. Wells part of the 221 w. Hubbard project? I figured they were using that space for staging than start up 412 after they finish 221. Or are they two complete seperate projects, has 412 got approved at the same time or not approved yet?

They're both approved, but I assume there just isn't enough space to build them simultaneously.

Issued, not filed

Pretty interesting that they got demolition and new construction permits pretty close to one another. Hope they start on the new building soon.

Agreed. Don't know how I fell into the habit of using "filed"

640 N Wells

So I know that this was touched on a few pages back, but what's going on with 640 N Wells? The lack of the vertical fins makes this tower look like a squat, boring econobox with a Jenga obsession. Obviously it's a huge improvement from what was there previously, but does anyone know if they will be adding these fins as construction wraps up, or are we looking at the final product?

I love the massing of the tower, but that extra touch would really make this building shine. Really hope that VE didn't rear its ugly head here...

Erie-LaSalle body shop

Not sure what style they are trying to go with here, but it's relatively inoffensive given it's a Sedgwick development.
