It I'm not mistaken, there will be retail at the base, whose signage should help integration. When the concrete barricades come down, it should help as well.

I actually like the way this building plays off of the small structure immediately to the south. It looks as though the building was built around the structure, giving an eclectic contrast between old and new.

I can't imagine what you'd actually use those spaces for in the building surrounding the courtyard. They're so thin, they can't even accommodate retail at the ground level. As for the upper levels, they're even more useless.

I'm worried that this building will become a literal Disney facade, straight out of Epcot Paris, but right on State Street. I sure hope LaGrange has a use planned for this space that doesn't involve "storage" or "utility".

^I think it is OK, but it lacks the subtle elegance of 30 W. Oak. That's probably due to the DayGlo reflectivity of the glass.

Ha, yeah, it's awfully office-parkish.

There is more than a difference in the color, though. Check out the detailing at 30 W. Oak next time you are over there, if you haven't before. It's similar to the way they are doing SoNo, if you want to see how it goes together. It's a more customized and architectural way of doing it... Unfortunately, many projects now are copying the detail or variants of it, so I think it won't be as unique for long. But it will always look, ahem, superior.

155 seems derivative, but doesn't quite live up.
