So the ice broke up on the Ottawa River outside my apartment over the last couple of days and I just now saw my first robin of the season! Can the snowdrops and crocus be far behind?

Mix of sun and cloud and 13 degrees at just before 1:30PM. Highs near 14 today. Another double digit day tomorrow before we get back into more seasonal weather.

Pretty sure there are some already and that they've even been there for a while.

They typically come out in late February most every year in sloped places with due south exposure to the sun. Like the knoll between Laurier and Promenade du Portage in Hull, just below the Terrasses de la Chaudière bus stops. (Haven't been near there in a couple of months, though.)

Lots of lawns purple with crocus flowers on the bus ride home but none of mine are out yet.

Me Jays were finally back this morning. Not sure what's making the streaks on the window below, but I think it might be the rat that lives under my deck Yech.

Beautiful pics, Townguy

Nice blue jay sighting, SHH. I'm not sure I've ever seen one in person. I see stellar jays around, but no blues.

7C and sunny. A bit of an unpleasant breeze but we have to keep in mind it's March.
Still some ice remain on the canal. Generally speaking any snow left was destroyed by yesterday's warm day. Only piles remain.

Low of -1C (wind chill of -8) this morning.

The warmspot was St John's, NL at 17.6C.

Warmest low was Cheticamp, NS at 6.6C.

I can't get the chill out of me today, oddly, despite it being mild. I'm freezing. Turned the heat in the house all the way up to 16C lol

Snowdrops and crocuses are in my rearview mirror!

That said, commuting home last evening there was the most severe rain deluge I’ve ever encountered here. Today is brighter but tomorrow the heavy rain is supposed to return.

Not really. Just a quick run to the supermarket and I managed to get home with a dry umbrella.

November and March are my least favourite months. I'm always happy to get past them.
