Or 2001 feet? (Sorry, got carried away there)

That would be cool like it went to some pointless height such as 1809 they may either may the spire smaller or say the heck with it lets go to 2001

Considering it shows the tower as a single wall, then yes, it is skewed.

Again with the spire being 2001 feet? Do you people really not see a possible issue with that height?

people actually care whether it's 1781 or 1776? gawd haha that's sad.

One question, I know I asked this but if the 108th floor is more than 1368 feet off the ground how is the roof 1368 in the title and 108 floors? That makes no sense, the last floors are in the ring.

The roof is 1362'. The top of the glass parapet is 1368'. The floors in the communications ring are unofficial because they are not served by any of the buildings' elevators.

And can we please stop talking about a change in the buildings' height? I want the tower to be 1776' and maybe 1781' either way they're symbolic. raising the height of the building to 2001 makes no sense at all. For one, the tapering of the building wouldn't allow it and what are we symbolizing? One of the worst years in national history?

I think the person who first suggested 2001 ft meant it as a tasteless joke, not as a legitimate proposition.

That is correct. It was a tasteless joke and I apologize if I offended anyone. I was not suggesting immortalizing one of the worst years in our Nation's history. I had several friends who perished on that terrible, terrible day and I would never demean their memory. Once again, my apologies.

exactly my point so change the title or change the roof height to 1402, its not a huge deal it just doesnt make sense. the building has 105 floors

Honestly Zapatan, the height is significant due to the declaration of independence. Having it be slightly off would be like celebrating Cinco de Mayo on May 3rd or 7th.

What? No, did you even read my posts? no one gets this...

Ok very slowly now,

If the roof height is 1368 the building has 105 floors, if you count the last 3 floors you are counting the crown which tops off at 1402, i said nothing about 1776.

The title says 1368 and 108 floors, but if its 108 floors its 1402 feet, and if its 1368 feet its 105 floors.

does anyone seriously not understand? not to be mean or anything but it's very simple

The spire hasn't been built yet. So the planned height stays the same until someone says otherwise.

ZenSteel says the top of the crown is at 1,401 ft. The top of he parapet is at 1,368 ft. Changing the roof height isn't neccessary, at least for now. Still too much unknown about the top. Some things probably won't become more apparent until built.

ok, here we go again, you're counting floors that are beyond the roof level. the building has 105 floors not 108

its not a big deal but i was just trying to clarify, im pretty sure i saw that in the diagram

They were counting official and unofficial floors when they put 108 floors on the thread. Unofficially, the tower has 108 floors, but officially it's 105 due to the fact that the building's elevators do not serve the floors in the ring. Therefore the official roof height is 1362' and the parapet 1368', the original heights of its predecessors.

It seems fair that the floor-count should be 105. If those other 3 floors are counted in the floor count, but not the height, then they shouldn't be posted on the title.
