besides the one and its neighbour they look like typical semi-detached built anywhere in Canada the past 30 years
and if they weren't "snout semis" with the setback entrance where would they park their fishing boat

when I think of "human storage pods" I think of the micro apartments/condos under 500 or 400 sq ft being built in Toronto and new builds around southern Ontario

That's classic Gatinoise architecture! Just like how these are an absolute epidemic in the Montreal suburbs: https://goo.gl/maps/pkPWk3K9z8jQ69Q7A

They are neither good nor bad....they just are.

They're even way more offensively utilitarian than the average.

And there are way nicer ones a few hundred metres away.

The lower classes also deserve their wee bit of the Canadian dream, no?

Why would they when it'll be sold to some fool from the GTA.

That's the buyers responsibility, as is a real driveway, grass, and a level concrete entry

Although they don't possess a garage, these ones even closer are much better than your initial mockery semis

Podium @ The Gaslight District

Doctor's advice requested: is SPF-500 sufficient or is SPF-1000 required?
Will this building fry an egg or melt cars?

Was walking through St. James Town yesterday. The properties we lend on are the exception in that the buildings are well maintained. They are market rentals though so tough to compare with a lot of these other buildings. But I do wonder which ones are at market and how shitty it must be to pay a couple grand to live in almost squalor.

One of them aptly addressed as 666.

I actually took the bus up Sherbourne and then down Parliament on the way back. Always fascinating to see how streets transition and sometimes the dichotomy between each side of a street.

Visited Kelowna last week and it is a city of extremes. Nice new developments going up everywhere but with dirt lots and redneck dumps just as ubiquitous.

Here's an example:

https://www.google.com/maps/@49.8923...6656?entry=ttu

Funny the dumpiest area is called Rutland.

Here's a nice contrast:

Rednecks here look straight out of the southern US:

This one straight out of Alabama had 2 trucks parked on the sidewalk and lawn when we drove by:

Drove past this weird house in Calgary's super rich Bel-Aire neigbourhood. I love the Uncle Buck Car. There were also some interesting 'sculptures' not seen in this streetview. Otherwise, the car and landscape supplies haven't moved.

That area already has a couple of four storey condos. We really should just forego community consultations at this point.

I was in Cambridge a few weeks ago and the Gas Light District is one of the worst pieces of urbanism I have seen in a long time, so happy it was posted here. Every Aspect of this project is wrong. The demolition of half a beautiful heritage building when so many lots are empty, every axis aligning to a blank wall of 5 stories of parkade, the massive scale compared to the rest of the town, and the giant mirror facing the grand river being a bird killer is a small list.

Many buildings are bad, but I think this project is borderline offensive. Would love to know the firm who did this

Not sure what I expected this place ($330K) in St. John's to look like inside...

But it definitely wasn't this lol:
