OK. Sears replaced Eaton's in 2000 and closed in January 2018. The developers now intend to demolish all of the remainder of the old mall, (which is now all closed) and replace it with residential towers, most with a podium with streetfront retail and commercial space.

I wonder if they were getting some type of decent rent from Shape for that spot. When is Tower 5 and 6 completing? I was wondering if they had it in them to hold out until then.

I doubt they got much of a deal from Shape for that space.

It seems like it's a 2027-2028 completion for Towers 5 and 6.

Looks like demolition on the old mall is progressing. The Zellers end is completely gone along with about half of the "north" wing.

Yeah, you can see the steel roof supports with the circular openings.

Lexus, your drone is really quite something. Thanks for all of the great videos and stills you have been posting lately.

You’re very welcome! I’m excited too to see things from above that you just can’t see from the ground.

They need to add some variation to the height of these new towers. At certain angles from a distance it looks like a giant blob that's exactly the same height.

When driving east on Lougheed from Boundary it fills and gives some good depth to the area, it used to kinda fall short before. I wonder what small format grocery store? Stongs?

next time you're in the Tri-Cities maybe you can check out

Portwood (formerly known as Woodland Park).

Another place that would be interesting might be that new condo tower in Guildford. There is also another crane or two up in the area. You could launch from the mall parking lot and do a circle

Also on the North Shore, Lynn Valley. Around the mall there could be pretty cool. There's some new towers that just went up in the area and maybe even upper Longsdale, there's been a lot of action going on over there

Not really all the blocks that are getting redeveloped are mostly industrial/commercial sites that were easy to assemble and right next to the station. I mean the scale of development has increased but the Brentwood Town Centre plan has been there since the mid 1990s

Thank you for your feedback and suggestions, I just returned from my bike ride at the North Shore, and will be uploading videos in a few days!
