It's not Thunder Bay. Maybe it's Thompson or Yellowknife?

It's neither of those. Yellowknife's skyline is way bigger than that, and has a prominent turquoise building and a prominent 60 meter modern apartment tower with a distinctive pinnacle at the top. Thompson's skyline consists of only one highrise.

Now that I think about it, it almost looks like Red Deer but before the addition of their new tallest (Executive Place) in 2010. The core in that picture looks a bit too dense to be Red Deer though. My guess is it's a small American city in the northern midwest.

Also, if a mod can possibly help with this, Red Deer is in the diagram database as "Red Dear," is there any way that this can be corrected? Thank you.

I didn't know Red Deer got a new tallest in 2010.

On the diagram, its tallest is the Coast Capri Hotel, however that is outside of the core. The tallest in the core is Executive Place, a 12 storey, ~55 meter office tower built in 2010.

L tower is much farther away, so it appears a lot shorter, and cannot be used as any sort of comparison here. The Star and Westin are both within one block. Imagine the Star building dropped into the middle of the CBD, it would almost be lost from view, and the 1 Yonge towers are in the same height range as the CBD towers.
Back to the math... in the render I posted, the tallest tower is in fact 2.76 times (243 pixels / 88 pixels) as tall as the Toronto Star building. I'm not sure where your "this is too tall" statement comes from, since it is almost exactly the height that you say it should be in an earlier sentence.

Yes it's further inland but not all that much further inland. Tower 1 will look like Toronto's tallest from there by a long shot, but likely as tall as the FCP antenna. Any way, we're splitting hairs. These things will dominate the skyline. I think everyone is in agreement there.

^excellent. I remember looking at Montreal from one of the big Vermont ski hills...(with binoculars...maybe Jay Peak?). Mount Royal and the skyscrapers were clearly visible as well as the olympic stadium tower.

Montreal is visible from Jay Peak on an exceptionally clear day. Jay is the only eastern skiing that is worthwhile. It has the highest snowfall in the east and some of the steepest runs. It is also one of the coldest places I've ever been (yes even colder than Sunshine Village).

I love those views - there is so much rich green during the summer and warmer hues during autumn. Rattlesnake Point has great ones too, though the city skylines are not as easy to see.

From the escarpment east of Hamilton you can get some terrific shots of the north shore of the lake. At night it's spectacular. (wish I had pics to share... really need to get on that one of these days

)
