I went in the 80's/90's from university or Toronto. A trip to Niagara Falls, NY makes you grateful to live in Canada. There are only so many all you can drink all you can eat bars to go to. The general crapitude aura of the place is quite striking.
Maybe I didn't go to the nice parts of the City. I did hear something about a shopping mall crisis there though !!!!!
I remember going in a liquor store there in university and the owner gave us a calculator to figure out the US/CDN $ pricing conversion and different size bottles of liquor to see if it was worth it to us to take it back to Canada. Service you don't get at the LCBO.
