And, today they mentioned that American women's (tweens and teens) clothing store Brandy Melville (First in the Ottawa market, as far as I am aware) is opening in May:

Wow, this is both exciting and scary. Literally a quarter or a third of the mall is in drywall now so hopefully things continue to move really fast.

-Is there a timeline of when things are expected to be done? Other than the 2015 opening of Nordstrom I haven't heard much...
-What are they doing with that area where Richtree was?
-In the expansion picture, are they pouring the flouring yet?

I'm guessing the extansion will take some time (obviously) but renovations might go pretty quickly, I mean it doesn't take a year to redo floors, lighting and railings...

Koyman, Miss Tiggy Winkles, Second Cup, Sears...all gone. Then the entire end of the mall where the two story Victoria's Secret/Pink, New Sephora/Old Sephora, Richtree...I think maybe a third of the mall is accurate!

It looks like they're using different flooring on the first level. They have examples of the flooring they're considering laid out on the floor in front of the Face Shop. Prediction: a lot of high-end stores are likely going to find their way into the Rideau Centre (or nearby) in the next year or so.

The new food court is supposed to open in early August (the 1st I think) along with 3-4 other stores (a relocated Eddie Bauer, Purdy's Chocolates and a few others I'm not sure of). Once the new food court is open, I would imagine they will begin transforming the old food court into retail space. There will be an entrance to the new food court on Nicholas (the old Sears entrance). Hopefully it will provide a bit more activity around Arts Court which would be an improvement for that stretch.

That's a lot of space for a subway entrance. From the rendering on the Rideau Centre website it looks like there will be retail space right under the current Rideau Street food court entrance and a new mall entrance to the right of that. The image is too large to post here.

Do we know, or have any rumours of, what new retailers may be filling the boutiques? Also who could be gone for good?

I'm not to sure about that. Every level has at least one entrance to the outside. Level 1 has two entrances on Rideau (food court and under the main skywalk to Freiman Mall), Level 2 has one entrance (Transportation Building) and Level 3 has one entrance (MacKenzie-King Bridge).

On a different note, looking at the subway entrance, it seems very little space in the former food court will be lost as the escalators have enough room to dive under. I would like to see how the elevator between the subway platform and the Rideau side of the Freiman Mall bridge will work. Heck, after the re-instatement of the Ogilvy façade, the whole subway connections is what I'm looking forward to seeing the most.

I also noticed these 'test patches' next to the new Face Shop. I didn't look too closely, but I thought they were all the same tile. I'll snap a pic next time I go by.

Oh wow..the veil has been removed! I'd like to see an angle that shows Pink and VS in the same shot.. I'm also wondering if they are connected by stairs/escalator like Forever 21.
