Speaking of livery (kind of), in that Pic of the ETS U2s that Sir Humphrey Appleby posted, you can see the newer ETS colours on the first unit, followed by the old colours on the second and third units.

I realize that the SD-160s haven't all been given the new livery yet, but does anyone know if the old U2s will ever see it? Probably not worth the cost considering they'll be phased out eventually, but it would be neat to see. Or maybe I'd rather NOT see the old pink and blue anymore.

Also - I have been noticing that pretty much all of the SD-160s seem to have (what I think are) the new AC units on top. Is that retrofit complete? Just in time for our short summer?

Theres 3 or so of the SD160's still waiting for their AC retrofit.

Only if you get a Westjet 737-700. If you get a 737-800, 12F is one of the worst seats on the plane as it doesn't recline (it has the emergency exit behind it).

The old trains are so awkward though when you are across from another tall dude and have to go for the old leg interlock.

Now I'm one stop out of downtown so I don't bother sitting unless it's totally empty.

Awesome, a fellow awkwardly tall dude. I am the shortest in my family and we all have had trouble with fitting into places. Buying shoes was terrible for a long time.

But if you go to the Netherlands, you will feel right at home. The average height for men there is 6'3".

The red stripe will go all the way around, this was just a rush to get it ready for the ceremony tomorrow (at 1pm reportedly) and isn't the final product. The LRV is also missing its fleet numbers in those pictures, but this should be #2301

I don't think the stripe should go all the way around. It should continue forward and down following the cutaway curve until it hits the windscreen.

Looking good, those would be great, especially at city hall, avoiding the walk down the block to switch trains.

Is that +15 specifically built into the platform at the city hall station for people to transfer sides? i wasnt sure in the renderings if it was that or if it was just an unrelated project between the two buildings

The existing +15 at city Hall station isn't connected to the platforms at all - the renderings make it look like it might get reclad, but I don't know if that is true.

The renderings of the 4th Street Station show the completely rebuilt +15 over to the mall.

I've actually been! It was awesome. People didn't stare at all, which normally happens a bit when I travel. Canada is a fairly tall place by world standards, some places I've been definitely didn't take guys like us into consideration when designing things such as doorways!

I hear you on shoes... if you get a line on a good source let me know. I might try online next time.

Back to our regularly scheduled transit thread, I really like how the platforms at each end are in the same block. I'm coming in from the Bridgeland station and pretty much everywhere I take the train that isn't downtown is on the NW/South line.

One thing I noticed my second time through the video was that the new LRV features information signs at either end of the 'cabin'. I assume this is to display station information. Has anybody heard when this retro-fit will begin on the rest of the fleet?

I havent heard any plans to add displays in the older LRV's.

As for the announcements, thats referring to the new spoken announcements. The story we got told over on cptdb was its a result of a lack of planning by CT related to the closure of City Hall that prompted the new voice (maybe the lady who recorded the old voice finally retired?)

These are the same types of train cars being used by ETS - the new ones they are receiving. There is an internal display for the station name as well.
