Back from the ceremony. It was quite enjoyable. The crowd was oblivious to the failure of the cauldron, but whatever It was good.

The sound in the arena wasn't amazing, it was nearly impossible to understand Nelly Furtado. But that could just be Nelly Furtado.

The National Anthem was SUPER. You think it'll be on iTunes? I'd buy it for sure!

You hit the nail on the head, except the last sentence: the ceremony was not cheezy.

It was a tasteful, moving, quality performance with moments of great beauty.

i saw it too, on cctv 5....partly

awsome night shots of downtown

the light up was embarassing, it was clear that sth has gone wrong...and the comment on the roof by the narrator, was at first funny, since they think it's an advantage to use an indoor facility, that u could maximize the effects or sth...but clearly we kjnow it's just rain...and they finally got the point too, hahaha..

and of course, the scale and visual impact couldnt' match the one in bj, which of course, was expected and forgiven.

Yeah, I felt so alienated during the Beijing Games when they played oriental-themed melodies and Asian drumming.

the anthem was pretty emotional, especially when you've heard it over and over again, by the way yume, i didn't go to the train, as they said it takes 1.5 hrs just to get to the station, narita was too big...

Yeah, I loved the anthem.

I told you Narita is big. Many times the size of YVR.

i dont know about other broadcasters, but the chinese one showed very little footage of the city...it mainly focused on whistler, which was beyond beauty...and impact, then vancouver had only one day shot and one night shot on downtown from the air, that was it...where was downtown eastside, where were the addicts~~totally missed the city...

that floor was AMAZING. the lip synchronizing from the singers (or at least as it appeared on TV) was not so cool. I thought the tap dancing was the best part, as well as the orcas.
