Just FYI, this post is complete propaganda. I'm no moderator, but I would call this spam.

Atlantic Yards Watch is a NIMBY organization that tried to stop Atlantic Yards from being built. They (and their proxies) filed countless lawsuits, and they are extremely well funded, thanks to some wealthy and prominent brownstone Brooklyn residents.

Atlantic Yards is NOT a "community-based initiative", and they have NOTHING to do with "neighborhood health and livability". They were simply dedicated from stopping anything from being built in their neighborhood, and when that failed, they dedicated their resources to slandering the project at every turn.

Atlantic Yards Report is a successor organization to "Develop Don't Destroy". They couldn't continue with this previous organization, because their main organizer was paid millions to shut down the organization in a consent agreement with Ratner.

In essence, "Develop Don't Destroy" sold out its constituents for cash.

Atlantic Yards went ahead, with the multitude of lawsuits all dismissed, and the angry NIMBY remnants coalesced around a new "Atlantic Yards Report", which, resigned to not stopping the project, have tried to make the project as slow, cumbersome and painful as possible, by nitpicking every single action at the site.

Sorry, NIMBYs, you lost. Atlantic Yards is being built, and, so far, looks pretty decent by my eyes. Certainly better than vacant lots and a rail yard.

I had dinner in Park Slope the other night and checked out the construction. So far it's incredibly drab, industrial looking, and deliberately ugly. It doesn't do much with the site either. The view up 5th avenue is a let down, when it could have been a landmark. In summary,

Again, the Atlantic Yards development has already been approved, and development is underway. As far as the architecture goes, it could have been the best designed complex on earth, and those who are against it would still be against it. As far as any construction issues, no development in New York goes without complications, it would be foolish to expect otherwise here, one of the largest in the City. It's time people accept this inevitable development and move on. We are not going to turn this thread into some type of anti-building campaign.
