WestJet will begin offering a daily direct flight from Halifax to Dublin, Ireland running seasonally from June 15th - Oct 5th. The flight will include a 2-hour stopover in St. John's. The flight will leave at 7:45pm and arrive at 7am (Ireland-time).

It appears Edmonton has stolen yet another CEO from the Airport. Tom Ruth will be heading to YEG to become President/CEO. Reg (can't remember his last name) did the same thing about 6-8 years ago.

Reg Milley. No wonder Edmonton's job is so popular - according to AllNS it pays close to $1 million a year with all bonuses, perks, etc included. Seems excessive.

Wow, I had no idea - but given the plans for the airport land expansion I'm not surprised.

This is one of the images of Edmonton airport's expansion just to give you a sense of how much it is growing...

Even more impressive is the absence of any roundabouts, thank goodness.

I was mainly trying to point out that YEG has big plans; which may be what attracts our CEO's to run out west. God knows it's certainly not the temperature! I'm still waiting for the feeling to come back to my toes and I only have a 5 minute walk to work.

Folks, for the sake of clarity, please understand this flight to Dublin does not originate in Halifax and is not a "direct flight". In other words, the flight from Halifax to St. John's is separate (different flight number) from the flight from St. John's to Dublin. Another example, Halifax does not have a "daily direct flight to Hong Kong", but I can fly AC to Toronto and connect to an AC flight to Hong Kong. Hope I haven't made this more complicated thatn it needs to be. The fact remains that WestJet will take you from here to St. John's where you can connect with a St. John's to Dublin flight.

I was in a meeting in Ottawa today and the guy next to me, who was from Edmonton, was telling me that it was a low of -24C last night.

I noticed the Korean air 747's the past 2 weekends.(Jan 19 and Jan 26th) Landing early AM and leaving a couple hrs later. Are these the 2 flights you were referring too? or will this be a regular stop before heading to Anchorage?

The wood (or what looks like "wood") on the ceiling is a nice touch, and love the tall wall of glass from the interior - I imagine it's starting to look like a grownup from the exterior now too.
